From 20th May to 15th September you enjoy a refreshing bath in a swimming pool (17mx7m), complying with French safety regulations, take it easy on the solarium or under the shade of a lime tree, or picnic in a convivial ambiance. If you are tempted by physical exercise you can have a game of tennis in a green shady spot, of take part in other games like basket ball, volley ball, badminton, or table tennis. Both young and old will be able to bounce to their hearts content on a giant trampoline. Should you just want to enjoy the peace and tranquillity you can take it easy on a bench in the grounds and listen to the birds singing.
In the surroundings
Ideally situated, the small town of Prades with its 6000 inhabitants is an ideal place to discover the Pyrénées. All year it enjoys a mild climate and has 300 days of sun a year. This land of plenty offers a variety of landscapes which can take your breath away and provides many types of activities. The Canigou, sacred mountain of the Catalans, will fulfil the wishes of the most seasoned hikers. Sportsmen can devote themselves to their favourite passion, from horse riding to canyoning, from mountain biking to pot holing, climbing, or even cycling along small country lanes.
Amateurs of Romanesque art can visit and admire the wealth o many churches, cloisters, priories and abbeys, like St Michel de Cuixa, St Martin du Canigou, Marcevol, Serrabonne, Elne, or even the Cathars castels perched on hilltops, which are magical walks.
The region has 4 of the most beautiful (classified) villages in France : Eus, Villefranche de Conflent, Mosset and Evol.
The reputation of the Thermal Spas has long since spread abroad, from Molitg les Bains to Vernet les Bains passing by the baths of St Thomas les Bains and Llo.
Other sights await you, like the Train Jaune, the Grottes des Canalettes or the Orgues at Ille sur Têt.
Large towns are not far away, like Perpignan (25mins), Carcassonne, Montpellier or Gerona (1h30) or even Barcelona and Toulouse (2h30)
